Jean M. Dunn, Finance Manager, has been employed by Mentis Sciences, Inc. since 1998. During her time with the Company she has performed a broad spectrum of administrative functions, including: accounting and financial reporting; contract and subcontract administration; human resources generalist and compliance duties; personnel and facility security administration.
In her roles as Finance Manager and Facility Security Officer, she is responsible for ensuring that the Company complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting and security policies included in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), the Defense FAR, and the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). She is the primary interface with external auditors from Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Defense Security Service (DSS) and other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, as well as the Company’s independent financial and tax auditors.
Jean graduated from Babson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She passed the Certified Public Accountant examination and worked in public accounting performing audit and tax duties for Coopers & Lybrand (currently PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Boston, MA, and Bigelow and Company in Manchester, NH. After working in public accounting for several years, Jean transitioned to the private sector, working in the finance department at Healthsource, Inc. (currently Cigna), in Concord, NH. She held positions as an analyst and manager within the parent and subsidiary companies.
During her tenure at Mentis Sciences, Inc., Jean has expanded her knowledge of government contracting, contract and subcontract management and security-related issues through continuing education and professional memberships in the following organizations: National Contract Management Association (national and local chapters); Society of Industrial Security Professionals; Society for Human Resource Management.
